The Tennessee whisky brand “Jack Daniels” is the most recent firm taking a keen interest in connecting the NFT and metaverse spaces.
On September 9, Mike Kondoudis, an intellectual property trademark attorney, verified that Jack Daniels registered for three trademarks for metaverse and with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) on September 13.
According to Kondoudis, Jack Daniels plans to sell NFT-authenticated media that could include video, audio, artwork, and text related to beverages, barware, and clothing. The trademark will also cover downloadable digital goods.
The company has also filed a trademark application for downloadable computer software that provides information in the field of beverages and software that Jack Daniels could use as a digital wallet.
Jack Daniels now joins several notable companies and brands that have already applied for metaverse and NFT-related trademarks with the United States trademark regulator for various purposes in the past few months.
Many other remarkable alcohol brands have already joined the metaverse space. Tiger Beer, Heineken and Absolut Vodka, which released its Coachella-themed metaverse, are recent perfect examples.
