French Postal Service Groupe La Poste Delivers Binance-based NFT Series

On Friday (June 17), France’s Groupe La Poste announced that it had chosen the “Binance NFT” marketplace for the sale of its first ever NFT collection.

The Binance NFT marketplace launched on 24 June 2021.The NFT series, “Visages de par Les Facteurs”, was created via an interesting partnership between French post staff at Groupe La Poste and well-known photographer, journalist, activist, and environmentalist Jann Arthus-Bertrand.

Here is the main story of the “Visages de par Les Facteurs” NFT series:

In December 2021, all postmen in France (up to 70,000) were asked to take pictures of citizens they saw on work and for whatever reason were inspired by them. By the end of the year, they would create an exhibition named “Portraits of France by Postman.” More than 4,000 photographs were submitted between September 6 and October 31, 2021, and the best of them were exhibited at the Louvre Museum in Paris in 2022.

Moreover, out of 4,000 submitted photos, just 10 were minted as NFTs to become part of this NFT series from the French postal service. The NFT series is now on auction on the Binance NFT marketplace until June 27, and income from the NFT sales will be given to the Red Cross.

Remarkably, this is the first time that Binance operating as a digital asset service provider in Europe, which is a milestone for the company.

As NFT technology allows for digital assets to be minted and stored safely on blockchains, a variety of companies, brands, individuals, plus countries invest their time and money into this space. And since this is a fledgling technology, the limitations of what can be done are still being tested.

The creativity of this project and  all the earnings are donated to a reputable charity make it appears like it could be a win for everyone involved.
