Blur.io leads NFT marketplaces with the highest ETH burned

Blur.io, an NFT marketplace aggregator, currently ranks as the top ETH burner, burning 252 ETH in the last 24H, higher than Uniswap, Ethereum, and OpenSea transactions.

Blur.io marketplace managed to top the total ETH burned between Feb. 18 and Feb. 19, as Ultrasoundmoney data shows, as shared by Mika Honkasalo, Access Protocol CEO, on Twitter. 

The two contracts registered a total of 310.7 ETH. On the other hand, Uniswap and OpenSea recorded their total ETH burned as 239.39 ETH and 177.8 ETH, respectively.

Blur.io has also climbed up the leaderboard in its 24-hour trading volume. The platform’s volume has hit $87.35M, making it the top marketplace, with its activity rising 14.55% based on DappRadar data.

Uniswap and OpenSea, however,  top the charts with 14,273ETH burned over the last 30 days time frame. Comparatively, Blur.io burned 3,012ETH
at the same time. 

This last month, the DeFi sector burned 32% of the ETH, amounting to $25,403 ETH. Comparatively, the NFT sector has only burned 23%, amounting to 18,666 ETH. 

BLUR token price skyrockets

BLUR token prices have skyrocketed for the past few weeks, with over 1300% in returns in just a week. The upward movement was fueled by its spotlight after it surpassed the OpenSea trading volume. Notably, at the time of writing, it is trading at $1.24.

The token has retained a price above $1.00 for the last couple of weeks showing the investors are looking toward an OpenSea alternative. On Feb.14, the NFT marketplace revealed that it had transacted NFTs worth more than $1.2b on the platform. 

Notably, Blur recently mentioned it would modify royalties earned by NFT creators, including full royalties on collection blocking trade on OpenSea which further fueled its growth.
