HTC’s New Smartphone Called  Metaverse Includes Crypto and NFT Wallet

Smartphone manufacturer HTC has launched its first “Viverse” phone, designed to be compatible with its metaverse platform and incorporating crypto and NFT functionality. The HTC Desire 22 Pro comes preloaded with “Viverse” apps to navigate the metaverse and manage your crypto and NFTs.

The HTC Desire 22 Pro comes preloaded with apps that let you access and manage your metaverse content, including crypto and NFTs, from the phone. A Viverse app also lets you buy NFTs in a digital marketplace and “create your own virtual space,” per an announcement.

Like previous HTC “cryptophones,” the Desire 22 Pro also comes with a built in crypto wallet for Ethereum and Polygon-based assets.

Shen Ye, Global Head of Product at HTC, says that the phone “opens new immersive experiences as the perfect companion for VIVE Flow,” like meeting coworkers in VR or watching your own private theater wherever you are.

The processor is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G. It has 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. The screen is 6.6 inches and made of Gorilla Glass. It has a resolution of 1080 x 2412 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The phone also has a 4,520 mAh battery that can be charged quickly and wirelessly through Qi.

This is not HTC’s first crypto phone. In 2018, the company released the Exodus 1 smartphone, which had a built-in crypto hardware wallet and the ability to run a full Bitcoin node.
