What exactly is Metaverse Fashion Week?
The first ever Metaverse fashion week is starting today and the interesting fact is that there are no invitation cards or travel plans. The four days event has been planned in Decentraland, a virtual platform.
Decentraland which is a virtual platform uses MANA cryptocurrency, and it is powered by the Ethereum blockchain. Visitors can be a part of the runway show, panel talks, and they can also participate in after-parties. This show is attended by big names like British retailer Selfridges, one of the beginners in the fashion-meets-crypto field. So many other fashion shows are also part of the schedule.
A fashion show titled Liquid Paisley will be held on Friday. It will be hosted by Etro, Dolce & Gabbana and Tommy Hilfiger. Roberto Cavalli and Perry Ellis will also host their own runway events. A performance by musical artist Grimes will be part of the schedule along with films by Chanel and Lanvin, featuring in a digital movie theater.
