‘Friendsgiving’ Metaverse RPG event kicks off a busy month for Reunion
Since launching in April, Ape Reunion has cemented itself as one of the most loved and respected projects in the digital collectable space. What started as a free mint with just 2% royalties has seen over $3 million in sales volume and since developed into a pixelated metaverse RPG titled ‘Reunion’, now set to collaborate with some of the biggest names in the space.
Their latest event Friendsgiving (24th-27th Nov) allows holders of an Ape Reunion token the chance to make new friends and collect unique cosmetic items that pay tribute to Huxley and several other collaborators including Long Lost, Feline Fiends and Cool Cookies.
Their previous seasonal event during Halloween saw a frenzy of excitement and over 1000 players in attendance, collecting items and exploring the vast expanse of Reunion – a map made up of over 6 million procedurally generated tiles that takes almost an hour to walk across!
Prior to launching ‘Reunion’ (still in beta), the team had already gained a reputation as pioneers in the space. Their ‘free mint, low royalty’ approach soon became standard and was adopted by countless others, and in June they made history by becoming the first project to allow holders to toggle between still and animated PFPs with a simple, gasless transaction.
With a thriving community of over 3000 holders and a new collection right around the corner, the future looks bright for Reunion and their rapidly expanding eco system. After a tumultuous time for the industry at large, with many still reeling from the prospect of a recession and the recent collapse of FTX, we can at least be certain of one thing… the Reunion has only just begun.
