Sony Network Communications and Astar Network, the multichain smart contract platform, have announced the upcoming Web3 Incubation Program’s Demo Day. Scheduled for June 18, this event marks the culmination of a joint incubation initiative co-hosted with Startale Labs Pte Ltd. The Demo Day is an official event of Japan Blockchain Week, fostering international attention.
Metaverse and real-life congregation
The Demo Day will be a hybrid affair, blending the physical and digital realms. Participants from around the globe will congregate in person and virtually in the Metaverse. The agenda includes pitch sessions from each project and discussions about the Web3 Incubation Program’s status, accomplishments, and future prospects.
This will be the second event resulting from the partnership between Sony and Astar Network. The goal is to connect innovators with venture capitalists and corporations enthusiastic about collaborating with Web3 startups.
In addition to showcasing advancements, the Demo Day will also feature a networking session, encouraging direct interaction among participants and program candidates. The event is free to attend and will be conducted entirely in English. Aspiring attendees can register online.
Participation NFTs
Offline attendees will receive a SoulBound Token (SBT) issued by Lemonade, a full-stack multichain platform. This unique SBT commemorates the event and, like all SBTs, is non-transferable. Meanwhile, online participants will receive an NFT pass from Snickerdoodle Labs, allowing entry into the Demo Day in the COSMIZE Metaverse.
Due to overwhelming demand, event passes will be issued through a lottery system rather than on a first-come, first-served basis. The venue’s location will be shared via email with all participants.
Inviting all web3 startups and VCs
The Web3 Incubation Program invited startups worldwide to participate, with 19 out of more than 200 applicants chosen for their technology, team, and product appeal. Astar Network‘s founder, Sota Watanabe, commented on the selection, saying, “These top teams launched on Astar are ready to build Web3 solutions with Sony Network Communications.”
Throughout the program, startups have gained insights from global venture capitalists, successful Web3 companies, and Sony Network Communications’ extensive resources. Participants have also engaged in productive dialogues with program candidates, enriching their understanding of Web3 technologies and potential partnerships.
