As part of the launch, Slim Jim is offering free NFTs to fans. These NFTs, called GigaJims, are unique membership cards that grant holders access to exclusive perks, benefits, and digital and physical experiences.
To secure a GigaJim, fans must provide their phone number and email address on Slim Jim’s dedicated platform. Once registered, a procedurally generated NFT is created through the “Meaterializer” feature. This NFT includes unique visual attributes inspired by the Slim Jim brand’s social media history.
Once a GigaJim is procured, it is added to the user’s digital wallet and grants access to the Meataverse website. Members can enhance the appearance, coolness, and rarity of their GigaJims over time by accumulating Slim Jim’s digital currency, named S.A.U.C.E. The brand has also created a public leaderboard to rank rarity scores, adding a competitive element to the mix.
The Meataverse is the latest in a series of moves by Slim Jim to engage its fans in the digital world. The brand has previously registered several trademark applications for metaverse-related terms, and it has also created a dedicated Discord server for community discussions.
The launch of the Meataverse represents an interesting fusion of traditional consumer goods and Web3 digital innovations.
