Planet Hollywood Group has partnered with Animoca brands, a digital entertainment firm, to launch a new members-only club in Los Angeles called Club 3.
The launch of Club 3
Animoca brands has revealed plans to launch Club 3 in partnership with Planet Hollywood Group through a joint venture called Meta Hollywood. However, members-only clubs are not a new concept in crypto or Hollywood.
For instance, Yuga Labs launched the Bold Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) in April 2021. BAYC has since grown to be the most exclusive club in crypto.
Following in the steps of BAYC, Club 3 hopes to succeed and bridge the gap between the real world and virtual memberships. Moreover, the new club is centered around ClubID, a new identity, membership, and commerce platform. The commerce platform will power Meta Hollywood’s communities, which will launch in beta in 2023.
The benefits of the Club 3 membership will include access to amenities depending on the membership type. For example, members can access a closed community chat to meet other members virtually.
Additionally, minting Club 3 NFTs will give collectors a membership in the group with founding, social, global, and corporate memberships.
Animoca Brands closing another important partnership
Animoca Brands is a Hong Kong-based software company and venture capital firm launched in 2014. Over the past few years, Animoca Brands has acquired several games, including Pixowl, the creators of the Sandbox.
How will Club 3 operate?
Club 3 membership fees for social and founding memberships are $2,500 and $7,500, respectively. Like DAO, the club will incorporate web3 mechanics like community voting on seasonal menus, perks, and promotions.
Although Meta Hollywood has yet to reveal the actual location of the first Club 3, the group said the venue is on Sunset Boulevard. The club will open later this year, consisting of a restaurant, bars, cocktail lounge, meeting rooms, and karaoke rooms for in-person and virtual events.
Should the club succeed, Meta Hollywood will expand globally with locations in New York, Miami, Hong Kong, London, Paris, and Tokyo.
