Pharrell Williams’ Billionaire Boys Club releases limited edition Y2K Core Tee with NFC technology

Pharrell Williams’ Billionaire Boys Club has announced the release of the Y2K Core Tee, which is a unique garment that will be available exclusively to BB3 token holders.

The luxury streetwear brand founded by Pharrell Williams is renowned for its unique designs and collaborations. The tee shirt is available in two colorways and can be claimed via an NFC tap. The Y2K core tee is the first in the bb3 Technical Goods program, which is a series of physical items with NFC technology designed to enhance the owner’s experience.

The garment-dyed tee shirt is made of 100% cotton and has a special NFC chip implanted within the bb3 logo embroidered patch at the hem that can distribute NFTs. Each Technical Good comes with a digital twin in the form of an NFT that can be claimed via NFC tap on a mobile device.

The charcoal colorway will be available after NFT NYC on bbcicecream.com, via a non-tokengated drop. Both colorways will subsequently be dropped in-store from April 12 to April 14. The colorway pays tribute to one of the earliest BBC OG logo tees, famously worn by Pharrell himself at the Source Music Awards in 2003.

The convergence of fashion and technology

In addition to the NFT tee shirt release, BBC ICECREAM, bb3 Labs, and 9dcc presented a Club Talk on April 14th at NFT NYC. The revilement talk explored the convergence of the digital and physical with pioneers in the space: Gmoney (9dcc), Ceej Vega (VEGA), and Adriana H Pereira; with conversation moderated by Gaby Goldberg.

The Y2K Core Tee has a special NFC chip implanted within the bb3 logo embroidered patch at the hem that can distribute NFTs. Moreover, the
tee shirt will also be capable of distributing another special NFT (ERC-1155), the Mizuna.ai Installer CD-ROM, to any device via NFC tap. These CD-ROM NFTs will grant access to the next phase of bb3 activations.

The BB3 Technical Goods program is designed to enhance the owner’s experience, and each Technical Good comes with a digital twin in the form of an NFT (ERC-721) that can be claimed via NFC tap on a mobile device.

Fashion enthusiasts and NFT collectors will enjoy the unique Y2K Core Tee. Made of 100% cotton, the garment-dyed tee shirt is a must-have item. The Y2K logo tee has the capability to distribute another special NFT (ERC-1155) called the Mizuna.ai Installer CD-ROM to any device via NFC tap. These CD-ROM NFTs will grant access to the next phase of bb3 activations.

Pharrell Williams’ Billionaire Boys Club is at the forefront of the fusion of fashion and technology. The team designed the BB3 Technical Goods program to enhance the owner’s experience. Each Technical Good comes with a digital twin in the form of an NFT (ERC-721) that can be claimed via NFC tap on a mobile device. This token is directly connected to the physical item, so if the item changes ownership, the new owner can tap the NFC chip to obtain the digital twin into their wallet.

Pharrell Williams’ passion for creativity and innovation in the NFT industry

Pharrell Williams has been successful in the music and fashion industries, and now he is making a mark in the NFT industry. He is a
believer in the future of NFTs and their potential to change the way people think about art, fashion, and ownership. Pharrell Williams’ Billionaire Boys Club is a testament to his passion for creativity and innovation, and the Y2K Core Tee is just the latest in a series of innovative projects.

However, the artistic and fashion icon is no stranger to the Web3 industry. Last year, in June, Doodles made a major announcement at NFT.NYC, revealing several significant changes that had taken place. One of the key updates was the appointment of Pharrell Williams as the new Chief Brand Officer for the PFP project. This announcement came only a month after Julian Holguin had been named as the company’s new CEO.

At last year’s event, the plans for the project were outlined, and it was revealed that the company was branching out into the music industry via its subsidiary, Doodles Records. It was announced that a first-of-its-kind compilation of original music would be released in the upcoming months, with executive production duties being handled by Pharrell himself.
