The NFT vending machine’s first holiday saw 390 NFTs sold over two days (one NFT sold every two minutes), raising £3,900 for charity Givingwhich finance public goods and services and education in developing countries, and Roald Dahl’s Marvelous Children’s Charitywhich provides specialist nurses to seriously ill children.
The vending machine is a huge hit with celebrities and influencers like Ant Middleton and @andythenguyen also gave it a thumbs up.
To buy NFTs through the myNFT self-service machine, customers only need to select one of the envelopes on display, then enter the provided code. After paying £10 through Apple Pay, Google Pay or an alternative contactless payment method, they accept a card with a QR code.
Once they set this up, complete with an NFT wallet, they receive their NFTs which can be worth up to £1,000. myNFT’s first NFT collection includes a variety of iconic NFTs, created by brands including Dr Who Worlds Apart, Thunderbird, Delft Blue Night Watch and more.
One of myNFT’s main goals is to remove any barriers to entry into the NFT space. It wants to provide an easy entry way for anyone who wants to start buying and trading digital assets. Vending machines epitomize the simplicity of the myNFT platform, creating a fun and engaging process for acquiring NFTs.
“There is so much potential in the NFT market and it would be a shame to see some of it go to waste when potential new entrants are put off by unnecessary and complicated hurdles. From gas fees, gatekeeper knowledge, to having to set up complicated digital wallets and more, great opportunities are being denied and wasted to newcomers,” Hugo McDonoughco-founder of myNFT, said in a statement.
“We are determined to make NFT a daily activity for everyone, and separate it from the current crowd”, added McDonaugh. “The best way for this sector to grow is through popular involvement, and we will only achieve this by breaking down barriers. Our unique vending machine, the only one in Europe, is a fun and unique way to show it.”
