Iconic actor Anthony Hopkins releases new NFT collection in the metaverse

Last week at the NFT Paris event, Sir Anthony Hopkins, the renowned British actor and director, announced a fresh series of non-fungible tokens (NFTs). During his live appearance at the event, Hopkins shared his experience and interest in the crypto community.

Hopkins’s second NFT collection

At 85 years of age, Hopkins acknowledged the significance of blockchain technology and expressed his inability to fathom being present in the metaverse at his advanced age. He affirmed his participation in the virtual world by creating NFTs in the form of live audio messages, which he had already distributed to the initial 100 holders of the Ethernal NFT collection through airdropping.

Hopkins has previously entered the NFT arena, with the Ethernal NFT collection being his second project. In August 2022, the Academy Award-winning actor collaborated with Orange Comet, a startup Web3 creative studio, to develop and introduce his inaugural NFT series, referred to as the Eternal collection. The collection comprised a restricted set of 1,000 NFTs.

Within the Eternal NFT collection, Hopkins showcased eleven distinct character archetypes that he has depicted in his illustrious film career, such as Hannibal Lecter in “The Silence of the Lambs” and Odin in three Marvel “Thor” films. The collection additionally incorporated elements and aesthetics from the actor’s extensive artwork portfolio.

Sneak peek at NFT Paris

Towards the end of last week, Hopkins provided a sneak peek of his upcoming “The Eternal Collection 1:1 edition NFT” ahead of the NFT Paris annual event. This latest project by Hopkins is indicative of his growing fascination with blockchain technology and the metaverse as he continues to venture deeper into the NFT space.

Sir Anthony Hopkins’ latest NFT venture demonstrates that even at 85 years old, he is still at the forefront of innovation in the entertainment industry.
