AVAVAV presents their first digital collection extending the fantasies of metaverse fashion

For people that know Beate Karlsson’s designs at AVAVAV, it’s not surprising to hear that the norm breaking brand has expanded into digital fashion. AVAVAV’s internet friendly designs have gone viral, not least its riveting four fingered shoes, worn by mega stars such as Doja Cat, Ezra Miller and Rick Owens.

For their first digital collection Beate wanted to take a break from the norms of gravity that often limits the silhouette of physical clothing.

“I wanted to extend the ideas of our collections in ways that are problematic in real life. For example, I’ve wanted to create an extended version of our finger shoes that hasn’t been possible irl. “

The collection is a good example of how brands now have the opportunity to go beyond the physical laws of clothing.

“The greatest part about the metaverse is that there is no use for comfort or dress codes. It’s a dream for a designer”.

They have teamed up with artist Cailin Russo to pose as the avatar for the collection.

“We wanted someone who fits well into the metaverse so Cailin felt like a great match” adds Beate.

The collection is powered by BNV and will be shown at the first metaverse fashion week with Decentraland. The pieces will also be available for purchase as NFTs through BNVs platform.
