Volt Inu unveils alpha version of NFT-powered battle royale game

Volt Inu, a blockchain-based gaming project, has just released an alpha version of their NFT-powered battle royale game that can be played on personal computers.

Coming to steam

The game, developed from scratch by gaming studio Forge21, enables players to create servers and compete against 25 other players per server. Although the current alpha version may still contain bugs, Volt Inu developers anticipate its release on the widely-used game distribution service, Steam, in the upcoming weeks.

The battle royale game genre is one of the most profitable for gaming studios at present. For instance, the immensely popular game Fortnite has allegedly earned Epic Games more than $9 billion in revenue during the first two years following its launch.

In a bid to replicate this success, Volt Inu has developed an NFT-based game that combines the last-man-standing gameplay of battle royale with the survival, exploration, and scavenging features of a survival game.

NFT collection of 10,000 unique dragons

Volt Inu’s game will showcase the Volted Dragons Sailors Club (VDSC), the project’s non-fungible-token collection that includes 10,000 dragons and is presently priced at 0.5 ether ($813) on the NFT marketplace OpenSea. Although the developers have not disclosed explicit details about how the collection will be integrated into the game, it is set to be a highlight of the gameplay experience.

Volt Inu’s developers have stated that the game was produced as a medium for players to exhibit and trade their NFT collections, as well as offering them an immersive gaming experience. The alpha version of the game will enable developers to obtain feedback from players and enhance the game in preparation for its release on Steam.

The launch of Volt Inu’s alpha version of their NFT-fueled battle royale game is a notable achievement for the project. Despite still being in its alpha stage, the game has already created a significant buzz within the crypto and gaming communities, with numerous players eager to experience the NFT integration.

The success of Volt Inu’s NFT-driven battle royale game compared to Fortnite remains to be seen. As the project progresses, it will be captivating to observe how it evolves and whether it can establish a substantial foothold in the NFT gaming space.
